基於軍事保密以及國家安全考量，Google Earth所公佈的圖像大部分都是1～3年的衛星照片，並不是最新的「即時」衛星圖資唷！

Google Earth中的資訊會隨時間收集，一段時間才更新一次，所以並不是隨時都有可用的更新，也無法在圖像中看到最即時的變更！但由於它和真實的地球地形、海拔、經緯度信息和GPS輸出的經緯度信息是重合的，因此Google Earth對一般大眾用戶來說，還是有很高的實用價值的。

也可以訂閱「Sightseer」－「Google地球」每月電子報 可以每月獲得Google Earth最新的資料增加部份

目前最新的版本是5.0.11337.1968Beta測試版，如果您有安裝Google Earth的話，您還可以在Google Earth上方的指令列 →「說明」選項檢查有無可用的更新～～
